Hope for Heroes Program
Honoring Those Who Served With the Support They Deserve
At the Selma Area Food Bank, we believe no hero should ever face hunger. That’s why we created the Hope for Heroes Program—a quarterly outreach initiative serving local veterans aged 60 and older who are living on limited incomes. Through this program, we provide nutritious food boxes tailored to support the health and well-being of those who once served our country.
Each quarter, our team prepares and distributes food directly to qualifying veterans across Dallas, Perry, Marengo, and Wilcox counties. These food boxes contain essential pantry staples, fresh produce when available, and items selected with the dietary needs of older adults in mind.
Hope for Heroes is more than a meal—it’s a message. A message that our veterans are not forgotten, that their service still matters, and that this community stands with them.
