When disaster strikes—whether it’s a tornado, flood, fire, or other emergency—the Selma Area Food Bank stands ready to respond. Our Disaster Response Program is designed to provide immediate food relief to individuals and families facing crisis across Dallas, Perry, Marengo, and Wilcox counties.
Rapid Relief. Local Reach.
We work closely with local emergency management agencies, churches, first responders, and nonprofit partners to coordinate swift distribution of food, water, and essential supplies. Whether it’s setting up pop-up distribution sites in affected areas or delivering directly to shelters and recovery centers, our goal is simple: get help to those who need it—fast.
Our Response Includes:
Emergency food boxes with ready-to-eat meals
Bottled water and hydration supplies
Hygiene and household cleanup kits
Assistance to shelters and mobile feeding operations
Special outreach to seniors, veterans, and homebound individuals
Prepared Before the Storm
Disaster response doesn’t start after a storm—it begins with planning and preparedness. Selma Area Food Bank maintains a reserve of emergency supplies and regularly trains with partner organizations to ensure we can act quickly and efficiently when the unexpected happens.
